First responder training for professionals such as police, firefighters, wilderness trip
leaders, ski patrollers, industrial emergency responders, athletic trainers, lifeguards,
and others. Class teaches emergency care until more
advanced medical personnel arrive. Includes rescue breathing, first aid for choking,
single and two-rescuer CPR, use of a resuscitation mask and bag-valve-mask (BVM)
resuscitator, care for bleeding, shock, childbirth and spinal injuries. You will also learn
the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Class is consistent with latest
US Department of Transportation guidelines for training first responders. Meets POST
requirements.

Class Length: 48 hours
Fee: $325
Certifications received: State of Minnesota First Responder, as well as the following
American Red Cross certificates: Emergency Response (valid for three years),
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (valid for one year), Bloodborne Pathogens
Training (valid for one year), Oxygen Administration for the Professional Rescuer (valid
for one year) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED).
