Learn to teach the most popular American Red Cross first aid, CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) courses. Program includes training to teach courses for two training audiences: First Aid/CPR/AED for the Workplace and First Aid/CPR/AED for Schools and the Community. Receive training to teach two optional modules: an Epinephrine Auto-Injector Training Module and an Asthma Inhaler Training Module. Program reflects the most up-to-date science available and is based on 2005 First Aid Guidelines and Consensus on Science and Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR) for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). Course includes precourse testing of first aid and CPR skills and knowledge, practice teaching, and written tests. Also includes technical background on defibrillation and instruction, practice and testing in use of AED’s.
Prerequisite: 16 years of age by the last day of class and current certificate in Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT)
